From Year 12 leavers with teaching aspirations, to mid-degree pre-service teachers (PSTs) and new graduates – there is an incentive for everyone.
Young Achievers Teacher Training Scholarship/Internship (YATTS)
A combined scholarship/internship for Year 12 leavers from Catholic Schools within or proximate to the Diocese of Broken Bay, with a strong academic record and a demonstrated passion for working with children, seeking to enrol in select undergraduate teaching degrees.
- Primary Education degree (with a willingness to undertake accreditation to teach Religious Education)
- Secondary Education degree majoring in Religious Education
- Secondary Education degree majoring in Maths (extension), Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), English or TAS at any University
Current Year 12 students from Catholic Schools within or proximate to the Diocese of Broken Bay, anticipating an ATAR of 80 or above.
Total of $20,000 distributed over four (4) years
Paid part-time employment (0.2FTE/1 day per week) as a classroom assistant during the first 3 years of study until conditionally accredited with NESA
Paid internship (0.4 FTE/2 days per week employment) during final year of study
Indentured conditionally permanent full-time teaching position in CSBB on course completion

Mid Degree/ Pre Service Teachers
Targeted Teacher Scholarship/ Internship (TTI) scholarships/internships support for undergraduate and postgraduate teacher education students studying:
Primary (K-6) Education and willing to undertake accreditation to teach Religious Education
OR
Secondary (7-12) Education and specialising in specific subject areas:
- Religious Education
- Mathematics (extension preferred)
- English
- Science (Physics/Chemistry/Biology)
- Senior computing: software design and information processes technology
- Technology and Applied Studies
- Learning Support
- Music
- Economics
- Engineering Studies
- Visual Art
Undergraduate or Postgraduate Teacher Education Students who are:
Specialising in one of the above subjects
Entering their third year of an undergraduate teaching degree or first year of a postgraduate teaching degree in 2025
$5000 scholarship per year of study remaining (for a maximum of 2 years)
Paid part-time (0.2FTE/1 day per week) employment as a classroom assistant until conditionally accredited with NESA
Paid internship (0.4FTE/2 days per week) as a classroom teacher during final year of study (once conditionally accredited)
Indentured conditionally permanent full-time teaching position in CSBB on course completion

Pre-Service and New Graduate Teachers
Exemplary Teacher Grants (ETG) incentivise quality pre-service and new graduate teachers, conditionally accredited or eligible for conditional accreditation by the end of 2025, to commit to employment within CSBB for any remaining period of study and their first 2 years of teaching.
Who can apply?
The Exemplary Teacher Grants are for undergraduate or post-graduate, primary or secondary teacher education students or new graduates who:
- Are conditionally accredited with NESA (or are eligible to apply by the end of 2025)
- Are currently in their final or penultimate year of a teacher education degree
- Have maintained a sound academic record throughout their degree (preferred credit-average or above)
- ETG grants worth $5000 each
- Conditionally permanent full-time teaching position in CSBB on course completion
- A final professional experience placement in a CSBB school, if required
- Guaranteed (0.2FTE/1 day per week) part-time employment as a classroom teacher during any remaining period of study
